Like many friends and acquaintances, I too was drawn into the fray, and made many picks.  Some proved to be minor strokes of genius (I'm the only one I know who picked all four 8-v-9 games correctly), and some proved to be pure folly (George Washington can surely upset Vanderbilt!  Um, oops).  But this happens to everyone who plays every year.

Vandy damn near upset Georgetown... oh well.

I think next year I'll go with a reverse bracket--choose the underdog in every single matchup. Last year I rode a wave of upsets to take an early point lead in the office pool, but then my reign ended.

I don't know if I'd go that far. I usually don't pick any upsets more extreme than a 4-13 game in the opening round. Or any random game that might involve Georgia Tech.

That said, I haven't had to mark a single new result wrong since the opening weekend. And I just got my title game matchup within the last hour (along with at least 10% of the rest of the USA. I just need to get one more right, and I win . . . some minor pride points among my fellow GT Band Alumni. No money.
