Not that different is a baddd thing; it's just, different. exactly. here's the thing; relationships with people have been changing your entire life, but it was more of a gradual thing, you know? i mean...this is a much more dramatic change that we're talking about, with college...i think back to the people that were in my life on the night of graduation, and...well, there's no doubt that a lot has changed, but the important people...they're still here. it'll probably be scary for the first month or so, but seriously...college will be the best thing that's ever happened to you :)

High school is a great time in your life. It kind of scares you to leave it because thats all you've ever known. And you may feel like your friendships up here are more shallow, but that's because your best friends back home share at least 8 years of history with you. Give college a chance and it's going to be amazing, because you are one of those people who is a true people-person.
As for growing apart from your friends... that happened in a very unexpected way for me. It happens, and you'll move on. Sometimes you just need to accept the fact that it's hopeless, and then keep trying anyway. Don't let friendships slip away without a fight.
Good luck at SJU... until you realize what a huge mistake that was and transfer to PSU :-)
