laptop for under $500 ?

I'm looking at maybe, maybe, maybe getting a new laptop for me sometime this year.  Any recommendations?  I don't want it to be too fancy, but I'd like something pretty good and less than $500, (the less the better).  I do want at least a 15" screen, and a CD/DVD drive, as well as at least a dual core with 4GB RAM.   I'm open to recommendations!
