Yeah, earlier today. I got the second one quite a while ago, but I didn't have time to mention it anywhere.

Oh, I'm letting them rest as much as possible. Mostly by changing the ones I'm training at the time and sometimes just having fun with them or taking them out to enjoy the nature.

[Though, he hasn't slowed down on his own training. Which might show on him. He's generally a bit tired as he went for a run after rewarding his Pokémon and just returned to the room.]

[Akaya, why are you so cute? Shiraishi smiles at the younger boy.]

Thank you.

Was it a hard battle? I heard Whitney is pretty tough! [ ... ] And that she cries a lot.

So she really does cry every time, then?

Seems like it. It really throws you off when she starts that.

Well, at least you've already won by that point. She could do once she starts losing to really throw everyone off.

That would be quite a stragedy. Even if it would feel like cheating a bit.

[It's always good to know one's competition--both in the Gyms and among other trainers--and that's why Yagyuu's in the stands for this match, quietly watching the battles and taking stock of each side's strengths and weaknesses. Yanagi would say it's excellent data; Yagyuu simply subscribes to the philosophy of know thy enemy. The better to crush you with, my dear.

But it's with a smile and a congratulatory handshake that he approaches Shiraishi afterwards, his Eevee trailing primly along behind him.]

That was an excellent match, Shiraishi-kun. You put up a remarkable fight.

[It's the world of competition. Naturally people would gather information about their enemies. Shiraishi knows this, but still doesn't really mind anyone watching his matches. Really, audience just makes him feel like they're in a tennis tournament and that makes him more motivated.]

Thank you, Yagyuu-kun. I had to admit that this was one of the best matches I've had in a while.

Better than the one you had in Azalea? I seem to recall you and Oshitari-kun were heading that way when last we parted ways. You challenged the gym there as well, didn't you?

Yes, I did. While the Azalea match was easier, this was still better. More exciting, you could say.

[ it's only because of FRIENDSHIP that Rise's personally present for this match, even though she's watching from the doorway.

Yeah, she's not very fond of Whitney, but it's not as though she wouldn't cheer on Shiraishi. ]

That's the way to do it!

[Shiraishi grins at Rise.]

I showed her the best I have. Are you proud of me?

[ in response, she holds out her arms for a hug, beaming. ]

What do you think?

Heh. [He accepts this hug gladly.]
