So I have a stinking cold at the moment (apologies to anyone who was at Liz's funky party at the weekend who may've picked up my germs). I've been soldiering on through determinedly, since I have a lot on at work this week, but I'm starting to wonder whether I should maybe be at home

I'm feeling a bit under the weather at the moment, but I put that down to walking in snow for eight hours.

But I don't think it's fair to use you as an excuse...

If you're going to insist on eating other people's cheesecake, I fear you're going to have to reconcile yourself to a lifetime of cheesecake disappointment. Much to my chagrin, I have to include my own efforts when I say that I've never tasted a cheesecake as fine as yours (I also have to hate you slightly for that, but we'll suppress that bit as much as possible).

The cold is probably Someone's way of reminding you that even the most supreme doyen of the cheesecake is not infallible, but I hope you're already on the road to recovery.
