Title: A Christmukkah Tale Author: me, un-beta'd Warnings: One f-bomb. I think. Summary: AU Christmas story set in New York Cross posted: fanfiction.net
I wish I had time to leave a real comment, but I'm getting ready to head to the airport tomorrow. Still, this is a wonderful Christmas surprise
( ... )
Yeah, Dawn was totally going to be dead. Dead, dead, dead. But when I'd sit down to write I just couldn't do it. lol. I had a couple of different endings started but they just kept leading me to a dead end and I couldn't figure out how to wind them all down and come to a close. I finally just had to do away with any drama and go lighter with it.
Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I didn't know where the hell I was going with it when I started it so I'm just glad I was able to bring it to a, hopefully, satisfying close. lol.
I could see where a very dead!Dawn would leave things very open-ended, or with Caleb deciding to do what Sandy did in canon at the HoT, but not having to answer to anyone, especially an overbearing, judgmental wife who clearly controlled the house, the marriage, the family and the purse strings. Something slightly more upbeat is better for the holidays anyway. Even Tiny Tim got his Christmas dinner- even if he ended up a hungry, homeless cripple by the next week!
I'm obviously a big Ryan fan, and I always wanted the dynamic with Caleb explored more, but the one-dimensional non-approach in canon left no room for that at all. That's a shame, since these are too complex and fascinating characters- and two very appealing, skilled actors.
Thanks:) Glad you enjoyed it. I've been desperately trying to get my muses to cooperate and get back into an OC state of mind but they're just coming in fits and starts.
Thanks for commenting and you have a lovely holiday as well.
