I've had to shower twice already today because of this rain. And some spots in my hair are still sticky.

An umbrella is best, though I've found that sacrificing a cheaper umbrella to its sticky, sodden fate is preferable.
...And I've seen buckets seated in yards and upon rooftops with intent to collect it for consumption.

Yes but it seems I'm out of luck until the weather is clear again.
Is that safe to do? Who knows what else might get in it.

My, my. Few may be so lucky with the size of the birds flying overhead.
No roof or head is safe, nor would any collection bucket, ha ha!

They're almost pitiful this year.
...Almost as much as the number of in-patients complaining of stomachaches from consuming too much sugar from the rain.
