Wow, this story is gripping. I love the unfolding character development, and the world-building is exquisite. I felt like I could see every spire and statue and all the bustling humanity of the alien capital. You really make us feel the loss of this place.

I love how well you play with that idea and how the reader is just as confused as Jared.

Katie is a terrific character. I was constantly trying to decide whether she was evil or not. At one point it was like, "Well, she has a good sense of humor, so she can't be evil...right?"
