It is so very nice to write brit-fic. I don't have to worry about what something is called, I already know! How people who are actually writing in a different language manner is beyond me - crazy impressive!
This was brilliant! So many lines that made me chuckle, I could end up quoting huge chunks, but I particularly liked: It's a very sorry state of affairs when one's existential pondering is reduced to the contemplation of one's worth relative to nicotine patches. I'm so glad you found this & posted it.
You need to be writing, you know that don't you. Your John is adorable, your deft touch for the little details unerring. Your Sherlock perfectly observed. "He looks lordly on the couch, like someone's plucked him out of his stately home and dropped him in 221b Baker Street and he's just too damn aristocratic to notice."
I'd read much much more of this, and I'm not even in the Sherlock fandom - though I do watch the programme (and like it a lot).
Oh my God, you wrote fic! And what's more, you wrote absolutely brilliant Sherlock fic! This is amazing and absolutely made my day. :D Any new fic from you after we've been deprived for so long would have been a reason to celebrate. But reading Sherlock fic from you is especially exciting, since besides SPN it's my other huge fandom love, and it was amazing to see you branch out into it after only knowing your SPN fic. And this fic was so spot-on, hilarious and so wonderful that I could never get enough of it. And I definitely hope you'll write more like it. Or, you know, then again, anything at all will probably do nicely... :) You were born to write, hon, and I love every single word. Thank you for this.

I loved the bit about Mycroft's smile!
And of course John would be the last person to realise what's painfully obvious to everyone else.
Go, finish more stories!
