So preparation for the bode is going well, rucksack is virtually fully packed- had a scary moment yesterday when I was feeling quite smug and cocky because my bag weighed far less than the aeroplane limit and I could lift it with ease……only to discover a whole pile of essential possessions I had somehow missed and now my bag can barely close and I ( Read more... )

ok ok ok fine!
i love weird things about lse that arent particularly gonna help (i.e. i heart being in london so so so much, i love how arrogant and pompous the uni is, i love how there are just so many absurdly clever/geeky/uber-rich people around and hello carr-saunders is like teh greatest thing everrr) ..

a good library (lol for the books, and the fittys..) is essential
the course needs to be what you want it to be, cos as fun as uni is, if the work you have is rubbish then you will break down/go crazy *ahem* dotty *ahem*
a nice environment i.e. the uni itself
night life- hmg sooo important

erm..

OMG ITS 14:46. I HAVE TO LEAVE TO GO MEET DOTTY NOW. OMG. HELP.

I really really like Leeds, it's a nice city and uni etc etc

I would say catered personally, especially in the first few weeks when you have no idea what is going on the last thing you want to deal with is cooking. plus the stress of food shopping. and i'm lazy! notts is good for veggies, there is always 2 veggie options and salad, so i dont think that'll be an issue.

one con! longest walk ever to uni - but on the plus side we get fit, and get free hangover treatment...so check how close accom is
catered is probably better, but only if you are on a full on tiring all day course...its more friendly as everyone gets to know all the randomers at dinner, if not, self catered cause u dont miss meals!
get accom with a bar...or at least a good bar nearby!

Pros- accomodation is really close to my lecture theatre. so i can roll out of bed about 5 minutes before they start. Good library. Really look in detail at your course, because you have to be able to enjoy your work. I like how my course is varied, with the option to do electives and how i get a lot of control over it(choosing specialist modules)- but this may not be what's important to you. Also, look at assesments. UCL is the only London medical school where the only exams which count are at the end of the year= much less stress. There are loads of nice places to go out that cater to my interests at a close distance. Good atmosphere ( ... )
