Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, crappy week was crappy. It kind of depends on what you both like. Living with Picky McPickerton has made me very aware of people's food preferences.

And also, I'm trying to take into consideration the date factor. Garlic breath and getting shit in your teeth kind of ruins the mood.

But one that's pretty easy is doing salmon en papillote. Which is a fancy way of saying salmon in paper. I can type up the full directions for you, but the jist is season fish, wrap in parchment paper, bake. Comes out tender and tasty.

Mushrooms are disgusting, Mr. F and I will agree with him on that. And you are stupid for not liking fish. Sea life is delicious, and it pisses off Aquaman every time you eat it.

If you just want simple, you can't go wrong with making pasta sauce from scratch and then tossing it over some fresh pasta like the Butoni stuff in the salad aisle. I put a slug of olive oil in a pan, then a little minced garlic, then drop in a can of diced tomatoes, some basil, salt, pepper, oregano, and a little sugar. Next time I make it I'm going to see if tomato paste is a worthy addition or not. Then you just stir it around and let it simmer down. If it looks like it's getting too thick, throw a little pasta water in to thin it out. Maybe you can get some nice Italian sausage and put that in too. Mr. F doesn't do sausage.
