he was my patient when i was on the trauma surgery service. when we saw him, he had come via ambulance from a peripheral hospital in a c-collar/strapped to a spine board. it had been at least 20 minutes since his accident and everyone kept asking him the same questions.. i think it was painfully obvious to him (and anyone) that he had injured his spinal cord. a person *knows* when they can't feel their arms and legs. they know what that means
