So I've just finished my Tiger & Bunny marathon and even in its most angstiest moment it's eeeee such a feel good WAFF lolololol anime.
There's this vaguely 3D CG going on and I kinda like it. I like how cheesy Good Luck Mode looks - I mean, "3, 2, 1, Good Luck Mode, Tiger and Bunny, Over and Out"? lolololol - and it doesn't actually do anything and it turns out to be just Teamwork, because Teamwork is Awesome and this show is so fluffy Barnaby bunny idealistic! It's awesome like whoa. Superheroes are not my thing, actually, so the premise of this show didn't really interest me at first but then I read some fics and was starry-eyed and ended up watching this and I did not regret it one bit. I could really use a pick-me-up kinda show and lolololol along came TnB!
The show did get hit with Cerebus Syndrome by around its halfway point and by episode 19 I started being all aaaaargh stop crying, Bunny, stop it with the Batman and go kick some serious ass, Kotetsu's there to help you and aaaaaaa and then Kotetsu slapped him and I was all :D :D :D awww. Dude can't you be more manri, punch him at least? But. The slap was there. It was a slaaaaap xD xD xD I'm glad it was a slap somehow though, nothing against slaps because omg this is so awesome. I just wish I hadn't watched a chick flick k-drama before that because now I can't stop imagining them in HanaKimi or Meteor Garden something such such. And when Bunny was on all fours I was like o.O o.O wha-wha-what a pose there, Bunny-chan. Your spine sure is flexible.
Sometimes I just wanna punch Kotetsu because omg dude be suspiscioussss dude how long have you been a hero oh man, there are bad people and people who lie out there and aaaargh you're giving Maverick ideas, man! But that'd have ruined his character, I suppose, if he were so easily suspiscious but argh. But he's obsfucating stupidity! It's clear! See he noticed Jake's second power and the lift cable guy but waaaaah where did all that go when you dealt with Maverick, Kotetsu??? AAAAAAAaaaaaa - well. Maverick's probably not the first person you'd pin down a crime to; vice-president, old sweet kind grandpa, caretaker of a friend and takes him around on Christmas Eve; Kotetsu can be pardoned.
Oh, and Sternbild apparently doesn't use Photoshop D:
But how have their partnership blossomeeeeed. By the second half I was in awe of how... honest and vocal and just so open Bunny is with Kotetsu and I'm like awwww bromance because I love bromance. I totally squeed when Bunny hugged Kotetsu at the end xD and when Kotetsu died Bunny crying broke my heart ;_; Kotetsu still teases him omgomg even when he's not dying, "Too close, man," and that eyelashes comment was out of nowhere and lololol oh Kotetsu.
Although, I don't know, while I don't exactly wish Kotetsu would stay dead I'm kinda shifty over bringing people back to life in general. Because if you're planning to kill a character then actually kill him and not just drag the viewers into an emotional roller-coaster and I'm kinda 'eh' over how Kotetsu was brought back so easily -_- but TnB is a happy happy show! I understand! They will stay superhero-ing until they're old and creaky and then they'll retire in an old seaside cottage and Bunny gets to feed Kotetsu fried rice every day lololol.
Episode 18 had me thinking about KeithxKarina because Keith would be all like :D :D :D and goofy and obliviously offensive and Karina'll be all D< D< D< and o///o and just lolololol. But side character interactions don't get all that much focus ;_; especially Ivan because I need more Ivan and also Antonio because he didn't get a limelight episode and waaaaaaargh. IVAN. Is so adorkable I can scream. In the epilogue he actually discusses superhero routines with his jailed friend, er, Edward? (sparkly vampire aaaargh that name ;_;) and it's a sumo magazine omg a sumo magazine - oh, Ivan, you otaku xD
There's use of surprisingly good English in this show - Kotetsu's journal, for example, and the commentary thing that rolls on the bottom of Hero TV, whatsitcalled, and kudos to the animators for putting that much effort. Well, there was one - I don't know if this is a slip or the way Kliem talks but it's on the rolling whatsitcalled so can't be just that: "revenge boy who is looking for revenge." Yes. Because we know revenge boys look for Trix in treasure boxes, so just for clarification, he's out for revenge. Oh, Sunrise.
Speaking of which. Bunny's vaguely Engrish pronunciation of episode titles does weird things to my heart, lol. Kinda ruins some serious moments but for the most part I find it charming. Especially his 'see ya's, omo I love how he sounds lololol just all kinda casual and breathy and charming and so... playah. Go get the girls, Bunny.
TL;DR: I-it's so happy. SO HAPPY AND FABULOUS AND HO YAAAAAY. Is season 2 coming?
