Big Day Out!
yay. For those who don't know Big Day Out is Australia's BIGGEST Music Festival. and it happens in sydney every australia day. Because. Queensland suck. TAKE THAT BITCHEZ. WE ARE THE BEST (:

Anyway.
I got there at about 10:30 am and the first band started at 11ish.
So we made our way over to the Converse Stage awaiting Wolf + Cub. So I'd never heard of this band but they absolutley blew me away. They had 2 drummers that kept completely in sync with each other and made a great sound I absolutely was in awe.
The next band the almighty presets the band I came for wooooo. I love the presets. I bought their shirt. ANYWAY. Oh my god. I got on TV. at the presets. My life. is. so. complete. hahaha. Seriously. Listen to them. They are so GREAT live my day they made it so BEAUTIFUL.
Anyway after we left the boiler room when the presets finished we went to the main stages ( Blue and Orange. Basically they're right next to each other and they alternate between stages ) So the first performance we saw over there was magic dirt. Now they sounded okay but it was a bit sloppy. And she insulted australia on australia day. That is so not australian. By this time I had gotten into the mosh pit in front of the two stages. Little did I know mudvayne was up next. haha. I got CRUSHED in mudvayne. Elbowed in the chest. Felt up by some random. Pushed into a death circle. It was so great. hahahaha. and I don't even LIKE mudvayne that much. I moved over rom the orange stage while mudvayne was still playing back to the blue stage so I could be in the front row for wolfmother! It was GLORIOUS. besides the fact we got pushed back from the front row. But WHO CARES. They were the best band of the day I swear to god.
After that I caught some of the hilltop hoods at orange stage but I went off to find my brother. So I did find him. eventually. after some scary guy came up to me. and we went to see the local talent stage. This awesome band were playing which I don't know the name of but they had this awesome chick singer who could do screamo better than any guy I have ever seen. Their guitarist was a bit lame though. but hey CHIX REPRESENTIN!
We went back to the main stages and lined up to get into the mosh again. The Living End came on in aussie boxers and played just like that. It was so MAGICAL. lol. Go aussie go! hahahaha. They played absoultely fucking fantastically. I was almost in tears when they played wake up. So great. After the aussie boiz headed off Franz ferdinand started playing on the Blue stage. Everyone was dancing to their songs it was a huge party with Franz ferdinand. Some crazy people were wearing suits. It was like 40 degrees celcius you crazy people!
Anyway after Franz Iggy Pop and the stooges were on. What a crazy guy. He's like a million years old and he kicked ass. Seriously he jumped into the mosh and was singing with everyone in the front row he got security to pull up people on the stage and dance with him. It was fucking insane!
Then the show most people were waiting for the white stripes. Not disappointing in the least! they were actually really quite good and I don't even like them that much. Unfortunately the feedback was horrible and jack thanked everyone for coming and stormed off stage 15 minutes before they were supposed to finish. I love how everytime he performs he changes the words to hardest button to button lol.
By this time it was about quarter to 11 at night. So we picked up our bags and headed back over to the converse stage and green stage. COG were finishing their set. I absolutely love cog. I was just in time to see them perform my favourite song by them.
We then saw the beginning of shihad`s set all you young facists q: haha. They were great! By now we had been there for over 14 hours and were pretty dead from all the dancing and moshing and such. So we left after a little bit of shihad.
End result.
Covered in sweat - 90 % not mine.
Sunburnt. - Not that badly but bad enough.
Great Music - I'll see you crazy folks next year.
