I successfully spot cleaned my cotton bustle dress, but when I woke the next morning, the moisture had wicked to where it had vintage ribbon trim. The ribbon bled and since it was dry when I found it I'm assuming it's a lost cause. Thoughts?

oooooh, no!! Maybe a good long soak in Biz? I know a lot of vintage sellers do that to items that seem unsalvageable. Maybe Oxyclean?

If I can remove all the trim, I will give soaking it a try. I had good luck with an Oxyclean paste on the spots, but didn't think the ribbon dye would budge.

I think I'll remove some of the ribbon and give an OxyClean soak a try.

This is a bustle dress that you made and applied vintage ribbon to? Can you pick out the ribbon where it stained, then give the modern fabric a good soak and reapply the ribbon?

Yes. The dress fabric is modern 100% cotton (though maybe 10 years ago makes it vintage? Ha!). I'll try what you suggest! I do like this dress, even if I haven't had occasion to wear it. Thanks!
