in my inbox, from wildkat42@yahoo.com:
"You worthless fucking liar, it's been what, 3 weeks
since you claimed you had sent the money. You never
sent the fucking money. Why don't you just admit it?
Or better yet, why don't you just send it? Maybe if
you'd listen to people instead of standing around
looking bored while planning wounded, dramatic exits
in your head you wouldn't be so fucking worthless.
An immature asshole would just delete this e-mail,
pissed that I am asking for the money yet again. A
reasonable human being would just suck it up and get
the check in the mail. I am going to go ahead and
assume you're in favor of the former, you selfish sack
of shit."
so i showed my parents the e-mail, and asked why that could possibly be, when my mom did say she'd mailed the check. here's what i found out, as in the reply e-mail i sent:
"kat, when i told you my mother had sent the check, that was a result of a
miscommunication between my mother and me. i'd explained to her, "kat orders
you to e-mail her mother, i don't think you should, but here's the e-mail
and phone number along with her address, just in case." and against my
wishes, she went ahead and e-mailed your mother, and called your house three
times. she never got a reply e-mail, and each time she called the number,
she was told "this number has been disconnected." maybe you don't know your
own phone number? or your mom's e-mail address? so when, right after she
said she'd e-mailed your mom, i asked her, "mom, you're sure the sent the
check, kat says they haven't gotten it yet," she said, "yeah yeah, i sent
it," somehow thinking i was still talking about the e-mail. for some reason,
she managed to misunderstand me even though i'd asked her multiple times--
which is a reasonable occurrance when one's parents are foreigners. this is
the truth. i don't lie. and because my mother wasn't sure about the house
address (given neither e-mail nor phone number had seemed to be correct),
she withheld the check without telling me--i just found this out after
showing her your lovely e-mail. the check will be mailed tomorrow. please,
never contact me again, dear "wildkat.""
that really is my unedited response, even though you can be sure i'm thinking absolutely murderous thoughts at her. right, to be fair, she did not get her money like she was supposed to, i acknowledge this. but she also did not acknowledge that my mother e-mailed her just as she requested--and we've double and triple-checked the address. so, in a completely self-defensive gesture, i'd like to request that no one kindly point out that she has a point. while for the most part i'm all about being fair, and can take criticism from my friends, i could not take that right now. i had to put this here, in the hope that sharing it would sort of diminish it through distribution or something, but at this point, i'm so fury/shock-blind.
