Dear Yuletide Writer,
On the off-chance that you're stopping by here to spy, I figured I'd leave a note.
I'm not a big stickler for canon. I'm cool with AU. I'm fine with fudging a few details to get your story to fall into place. The big thing to me is characterization. As long as the everyone is in character, I'm a happy camper. If I read something and can hear the character's voice in my head, then it's all awesomeness.
POV and verb tense and all the other constructs are completely fine with me. If you want to go all crazy cross-over-y, I'm cool with that (and I love Leverage). I'm quite happy to read smut, maybe because I'm so completely incapable of writing it, but also love a good general character development piece.
So, my requests....
Friday Night Lights - I love all the characters on this show, so you pretty much can't go wrong. Tim Riggins in my favorite but I'm not a huge fan of Tim and Lyla. I've always been curious about the whereabouts of Mama Riggins. Tim/Tyra is fascinating to me, like watching a horrible train wreck. And of course, I love Coach and Tami - would also love a story about how they ended up together. I'm watching S5, but am having some Internet connectivity issues, so to be on the safe side, assume that I have seen no further than 502.
Sons of Anarchy - This is another one where you really can't go wrong - any character would make me happy. I do love Jax and I am so very curious about what his and Tara's high school relationship would have been like. (Boy with a temper like that in his early 30s, imagine what he must have been like as a teenager.) Also, I'm fascinated with Chibbs and Fiona. She's the most exotic-looking Irish person I've ever seen. (And why is she one of three women who scare Gemma?) Also super-curious about Tig backstory, particularly the beef between him and Kozik. I'm watching S3, but again, Internet issues mean that I'm possibly behind. To be on the safe side, let's say that I've seen up to 311.
Warehouse 13 - I've seen both seasons of this one, so everything is fair game. I think this would be a good opportunity for a 'women being awesome' story. I'd love to see HG and Claudia paired up together to get their hands on some impossible artifact. (I don't like what they did with HG in the season finale - I liked it better when her motives were more mysterious.) Since I've spent most of S2 wanting to punch Artie in the face, it might be better if he played only a minor role in whatever story you choose to write, should this be your match. I love Pete and Myka and the bickery banter between them, but don't really see them as a love match. And as far as backstories go, would love to know more about Claudia or the mysterious Mrs. Fredric.
So, I think that's everything. Really, I'm easy and looking forward to whatever you come up with. Last year was my first time doing Yuletide and it was very exciting and happy-making. Hoping for a repeat of that experience.
Just remember, relax and have fun with the story - I really am easy to please.
