My Sansa came with a trial account at Rhapsody, but that is owned by Real Networks.

I use Pandora.

It's free, but add supported. The primary disadvantage is you can't download from it through the site, but I think there might be technological means around that.

It generates stations based on music qualities from what it deems a "Musical Genome Project."

Pretty neat.
