Perfume reviews - Jean Paul Gaultier Classique X, Yves Rocher Ming Shu Fleur Rare

Tried out these two because I've had them here - the Gaultier was a sample my mother had given me (she had gotten it herself but wouldn't use it), the Yves Rocher is a bottle that I got as a gift in an order from them.

Jean Paul Gaultier Classique X

When I sniffed at the tester it smelled sweet, a bit woodsy and generally pleasant.

Then I put a little spray on my wrist and sniffed - and actually recoiled, because damn, stinging chemical, gaaaaah! After a few moments I dared to smell again and the stinging chemical were still there but developing a bit into plastic? A bit later it went lightly green-woodsy, but still with some plastic. Um.

After about 5 minutes a few flowers worked through to the top, all in all very fresh. (Throw so far only light, more and more a general "I'm wearing perfume" than any specific notes.)

After about 10-15 minutes the smell got warmer, but also more stinging, chemical and artifical. The throw also got stronger, stinging and chemical - I got a constant "there's something in my nose" feeling. Do not like!

After about 20-30 minutes: stinging, chemical, unpleasant, very likely headache inducing if I'd be wearing more.

After about 1 hour: artifical, stinging flower scent. NOPE.

After about 1.5 hours: soapy, stinging, unpleasant in the nose, very PERFUME: ewwwwwww

Conclusion: SO MUCH NOPE

Yves Rocher Ming Shu Fleur Rare

In the bottle: light, fresh, flowery-green - generally pleasant

Wet on skin: light, fresh, green, flowery, somewhat aquatic

Drying: got stinging for a moment, but not very much

After about 5 minutes: fresh, light, flowery-green, a bit aquatic. Nice? Not very spectacular, but nice enough?

After about 1.5 hours: The smell didn't change really, simply bonded a bit more with the skin. Throw isn't very strong, as far as I can tell.

Conclusion: Nice enough, but not spectacular and not really me.
