Sleeping, moral foundations, and boring life events
I feel like I've been sleeping since I made my last post. It's not quite true, but partly; I was sick and I did sleep long hours (with naps) on Friday and Saturday. Physical jank, city love, turkey day
I haven't felt physically 100% for a while now. Hanging out in the 90s, yes, but not hitting the sweet spot. Today, my primary purpose at work was to be a lightning rod for other people's anger. Continuing heavy stuff that I'm content to keep off-camera. I skipped two parties this weekend, one on purpose and one by accident; social things have been too much, lately.

Jeans and handstands, redacting the bad stuff
Emotional state slowly cooling from white-hot toward dull orange. I woke up on Saturday after my first full night of sleep since [redacted] and was ready to handle things like laundry, gym, and grocery shopping without causing undue destruction. Scenes from vacation; Book of Strange New Things
Sunday was rainy, and involved a lot of the usual Saturday chores (not done because of the bakery walk and the party); there's nothing like vacation to remind a person how many of life's practicalities don't go away just because one isn't working. Achievement unlocked: vacationing
I made it through a very packed week of work with some (in)tense meetings, and next week I'm not going in; this is day one of nine. My work-friend helped me kick the vacation off right, with a bakery crawl that started in Powderhouse Square and ended in Central; I ended up walking 12.5km by the time I got back home ( Read more... )
