We found a glitch with the final boss, where if you walk a certain way and lure him between the side of the train and a handy bit of cover, he gets stuck. Then you can just stand back out of his reach and shoot him til he dies. Works every time! Don't know how we'd have done it otherwise.
A lot of the flaws of Gears 1 are fixed in Gears 2 eg. other characters will revive you, the contrast/colours are better, there are fewer bosses and they're not as hard and there's more story/character. I liked Gears 1, but I loved Gears 2.
I really enjoyed this game. I'd love to play Gears of War 2, but they've said it's not coming to PC. :(
I eventually killed Raam with 12 shots from that exploding crossbow, followed by a single grenade. It's just all the previous attempts, he'd killed me before I'd got that far.

But yes, General Raam was a friggin' joke. Interestingly though, the bosses aren't that much harder on the tougher difficulties.
