We've had some pretty massive changes in the last week or so. First off, The Nocturnal Tomatoes are no longer together. Craig had a major freak out last week and quit. Johnny and Jeff wanted to try to find another drummer and start doing bar gigs again. Parker is beyond tired of that. He thinks what they should do is sell at least one song, which

The cost of living is definitely higher in MA (though I'm not sure precisely how it compares to where you are - I know it's higher than WI)... and the closer you are to Boston itself, the higher the cost of living. Boston is definitely a big area for music - I have a friend who has played lots of shows out in the area.
I'm really, really rambling, but if you have any specific questions, feel free to ask and I'll help however I can :)

The cost of living is the one thing that concerns me with all of this. I just hope we don't move out there and just sink because we can't afford anything. Cross your fingers for us.
Thank you so much for the offer. I don't have many questions right now, but if you can think of anything I might want to know, please feel free to share. :)

I think if you can manage to line up a job before you move out there, it will be a huge help.... and having at least a small bit of $$ saved up helps. I will definitely keep my fingers crossed for you!
As for things to share... The only thing I can think of at the moment is to check out Craig's List - I've found both jobs and apartments through it. It's also a good place to look to get an idea of job pay (although it sounds like you've been investigating that one already!), apartment costs, etc.
Have you given thought to what part of the metro area you want to live in? :)

I'm hoping to have both a job and lots of money before we go. We've actually changed our plans just a little. Now we're planning on going once we have about $10,000 saved up. With Parker working, my tax refund, and anything else I can throw towards it, we should be ready by this time next year. It will be an extra 6 months or so here, but definitely for the best.
Great minds think alike. :) I've been checking Craigslist in Boston so much it's now officially one of my most visited pages. I am finding some pretty cheap apartments, which surprises me.
I have NO idea what area we want to live in. To be honest, I don't know anything about Boston so I don't know what's good or bad. Are there any areas that you can think of that I should avoid like the plague?

Good luck on the moving though, I frequently dream of moving but my husband and I are in drastically different fields and the odds are slim to none that we could jobs in the same place.
