[So after searching the Straw Hat house, being distracted by the contents of the kitchen, and having to break back in again, Katie has realised a certain skeleton appears to have fled the premises.

How rude.

It's awfully hard to keep an eye on the highly stoned enchanted when they won't stay put.  She's merely going to have to hunt him down.  ( Read more... )

[MASSIVE BOOTED FOOT COMING DOWN AS YOU TRY TO DART ACROSS THE STREET SOMEWHERE. -Luckily he checks himself at the last moment. What is with Zoro and almost accidentally dealing you grave bodily harm, idek. *whistles innocently*]

Whoa.

[And then he's leaning down swiftly and scooping you up in one no-nonsense hand and plunking you off to the side of the walkway, away from people clomping around with big feet.]

Watch out, pipsqueak.

[Shoo, shoo. Aaaaand going on his way now, bai! >.> Wings what wings.]

[It's a plot, isn't it? 8| Kitten is unimpressed by this picking up business, at least until she gets put down again. Oh. Well, that was sensible. Thank you, Zoro.

She'll just bat you playfully on the ankle as a thanks and go on her merry way. Nope, no wings here >.>]

[The closer Katie gets to the mountains, the easier it will be to follow Brook's trail, heading towards the water source in the mountains. Sounds like there's a party going on, doesn't it? That would be the sixty some Rumbar Pirates doing what they do - did best. He's missed this much music.

Laboon is singing along with them from where he swims in the water. Further away from the group, two figuresshe should find familiar are talking amongst themselves, but their attention is obviously on the whale.]

He should be bigger, if he were real. As large as a mountain, they say.

[That'll be something to see, huh? I don't know how to explain it to you though. They're both real - they're just not the same.]

But he will be gone, if this wears off as she says it will. Everybody - you as well. I shouldn't be...

[Yorki says nothing, not bothering even to correct him on the nature of echoes.]

I miss him, is all.

[I know, Brook.]

And a wonderful icon it is. |D flicker_flash July 19 2010, 14:58:15 UTC
[Oh, Brook. You're meant to ignore these for a reason, you know. For her, the Rumbar Pirates are always here, though never quite so solidly as they are now. For Brook? If he remembers, watching them leave is going to hurt.

She hopes he doesn't remember. At home, the mists come down on those enchanted, covering everything in a blanket of forgetfulness, much like the tunnels did to Katie. Protection for the fae, distancing strange events witnessed from an every day reality. If the dreaming didn't work that way, her kind would have been destroyed completely by now.

She hopes he doesn't remember, because then he won't remember that she's not human. And that she did this to him. But Brook is a living skeleton. Pirate. Musician. Full of his own dreams and an open mind when it comes to what is possible and what is not, and she has a terrible feeling that all of this won't just vanish from his memory as well as his sight ( ... )

[The singing is starting up, as loud and happy as he remembers it. Though he's still sitting back and away from them, the song does a good job of distracting him from the little kitten.

Yorki notices, however, being a few feet closer to the ground. He raises an eyebrow at the wings, but he's an animal lover at heart. He offers a palm to her for a chin scratch when she gets closer.

To Brook: You've ignored him before. It would be hard, but you could do it again.]

I think it's a bit late for that.

[She stretches out for that chin scratch before she thinks better of it-- well, clearly the kitten can see echoes. But she'll deal with that complication later, if it arises. For now, Katie is playing the kitty through and through, which isn't hard when much of her kitten instincts have her melting under the attention.

She's definitely keeping one flicking ear on the conversation, though. Well ... with this many of his crew around, protective and cheerful, perhaps the only problem he'll face is having to say goodbye.]
