Introverted people gain energy from being alone, and the presence of others drains their energy.  Extroverted people gain energy from being around others, and being alone drains their energy.  The problem with being an introverted person, mainly, is that the more I need the people in my life, the more I pull away on grounds of psychological strain ( Read more... )

This Emily-entry was met with much rejoicing and rereading, as all Emily-entries always are. fyi.

The sky is much bigger here, I was surprised and delighted by that. One of those things you're always told but can't really be true because physically how is that possible, but it is.

Maybe this summer there should be a 2/4 Desert Sporkigs trek. We'll meet somewhere on 66 that is even more in the middle of the desert and nowhere than our current locations, and we'll park in some rusty unused gas station and then probably forget to turn off the radio because a good song will be on, and the battery will die and we'll have to flag down a cowboy with jumper cables. It will be an epic desert adventure.

E&E sounds exciting. I will hope for you, if you don't want to yourself. And the cafe sounds jolly enough as well. Jolly isn't the right word for it, but it wanted to be in that sentence so there it is.

I love you. I'm going to reread this again now. Because I love you and in my head I can hear your voice reading it. :)

I think a Route 66 abandoned gas station desert meeting would warrant a Life tile... except for the part where probably I don't have access to a car for the summer, depending on what Laura does with Dex, and how she would feel about me road-tripping in him. Maybe some benevolent stranger gives me a car. Lend me that angel of yours for a day or two and we'll see what we can get done :-P

Jolly is a good word, and probably in mind bc of British wedding things. Is my analysis.

'Big sky' came up over and over again in kid and teen Western lit, but I never knew quite how to conceptualize it. Yet somehow it appears to be true...

Guess what. These are for you: <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
There are others, but I couldn't pack them all in my suitcases. I'll get you the rest later.

Em. I definitely agree with your definition of introverts vs extroverts. How our very nature causes problems for us. And living at home with deafening parents. Oh, I can so relate to that too. Everything going wrong no matter what? Oh yes. Been there too.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for the job in WNY, and assuming you're actually in a city, maybe you'll end up running into people you can accumulate as your own? It would be impossible to do that here.

I'm glad you finally got a chance to update or felt like updating. :) Love you lots!!!! <3
