Character Information:
Full Name: Arietta the Wild
Series: Tales of the Abyss
Canon point: Right after Mount Roneal battle (Plus GB memories)
Age: 16
Species: Human raised by ligers
Appearance/PB: Arietta is a small and timid presence, standing at 148 cm.
She has long pink hair and red eyes. Her typical wardrobe/God General uniform looks influenced by lolita culture. It's black, resembling a dress, with matching thigh-high boots (and hat) and traces of pink and gray.
She has a large, yellow stuffed animal she constantly carries around with her, usually using it to cover her face. She also uses it as a security blanket, making her seem smaller and younger than she is. Although she does look younger than she is, in general.

History:
Previous RP memories: Let’s see. She’s been in Gargleblasted for some time - after being told that Auldrant was destroyed and the refugees were all that were left. She didn’t believe it, not for a moment, but she was forced to accept her circumstances until more information was brought out - and had to learn to live there.
She was forced to coexist with her enemies. Van Grants was only there briefly, so from then on she took her orders from Legretta and Asch.
She gained friends (as well as a few other parental figures - ones that weren’t trying to manipulate her or monsters) - and grew a bit from it.
She even learned to empathize with Sync, when she found out what he really was.
But her dependence on Ion remained the same - so when the original disappeared (and she wasn’t aware of the replica - the fact that a replica even existed) she was in complete despair. She managed to pull through by shifting her dependence to someone else - Kratos.
All in all, Arietta grew up a little.
Bringing someone along?: A LIGER. Essentially, it’s one of her “monster friends” who fights for her.
Character History: Arietta was born on the Isle of Feres, a neighbour to the Island of Hod. When the Hod was destroyed for plot purposes, Feres was swallowed by a tidal wave as a result of the destruction.
Now, Arietta's birth parents were killed by this tidal wave. The baby Arietta survived, only to be found by the Liger Queen and taken in by her. The Liger Queen raised Arietta as one of her own, and Arietta grew up with the other ligers as her brothers and sisters. Grown and raised like a liger, Arietta not only learned how to communicate with other monsters, but acted entirely like one.
When Van Grants found her, she was still a child, and completely feral. Van Grants brought her to Fon Master Ion - the original. Fon Master Ion was intrigued by Arietta - she was raised in the wild, and had no idea of the Score (A sort of prophecy that foretold the present and future of the world, that most people lived by.). He named her his pet, and his Fon Master Guardian. He pretty much took her in (in her words, "Saved her from loneliness”). He taught her how to read, write, speak and etc, treating her better than anyone else. She grew completely and utterly devoted to him.
The Score dictated that Fon Master Ion would die at the age of 12. Cursing the Score, he agreed to Van's plan to destroy it. They started by making replicas of the Fon Master - seven, to be precise. The last one had the closest abilities to the original. The others were discarded of - mainly thrown into a volcano. Arietta knew nothing of the plan, the Score, or Ion's impending death. Van and Ion originally intended for her to become the Seventh Replica's Guardian, and make use of her in the plan to destroy the Score. However, Fon Master Ion changed his mind - he decided instead, there was no need to leave her to the replica. He chose not to tell Arietta the truth - not to tell her he was going to die. Instead, the Seventh Replica was assigned a new Guardian - Anise Tatlin, and the original Ion died.
Arietta knew nothing of Ion and Van's plot - so when she was replaced as Guardian, she jumped to the wrong conclusions. She began to feel as though Anise had stolen Ion from her, and that any changes in how Ion behaved were Anise's fault. She begin to hate Anise, telling herself (and later Anise and the party), that Anise had taken Ion away from her. She then joined Van Grants's God-Generals, working under him. He raised the Isle of Feres, making it her private boat, and she fought for him in gratitude. No one ever told her the truth about Fon Master Ion.
The main party also encountered the Liger Queen in Cheagle Woods - leading to a fight that ended with the Liger Queen's death. When Arietta found out about it, she became obsessed with "avenging her mommy" - that is, killing the main party. Ion tried to convince her to stop, but even that wasn't enough. She made try after try to kill the party - telling Ion not to interfere. At one point, she and two other God-Generals (Legretta the Quick and Largo the Black Lion) confronted the party on Mont Roneal.
Arietta asked the Seventh Replica not to interfere in the battle. He started to tell Arietta the truth - that he was a replica- but Anise cut him off. The party engaged the God-Generals, and it was primarily Anise who fought Arietta. Arietta criticized Anise's performance as a Guardian - blaming her for putting Ion in all the danger he is in now. The battle was ended abruptly when an avalanche occurred. The God Generals were unable to escape (though they survived), and it as at that point of canon Arietta is taken from.
Personality:
At first glance, Arietta seems like your typical timid girl. She hides behind her doll, she speaks softly, and is meek. Arietta does have a timid way of presenting herself in general - but at the same time, she isn't a pushover.
However, there's much more to her than that. Next would be her devotion to the people she loves - namely the people who "rescued her from loneliness" (Ion, Liger Queen, Van - in that order.) She is fanatically loyal to the people she believes in. The more she loves someone, the more she'd do for them - though sometimes her ways of expressing loyalty and love are different than normal. (Ie, she gave Fon Master Ion the skull of her adopted 'sister' to protect him). Her view of the world is different, very black and white, having been raised by ligers, and she has some animalistic qualities, including her brand of loyalty and her view on what's fair.
The most important person to Arietta is Fon Master Ion. Van Grants brought her to him when she was still feral, and he taught her to read, write, basically took her in and treated her kindly. He named her his Fon Master Guardian, telling her she must protect him, even at the cost of her own life. She happily agreed. So, basically, she loves him more than anything, and is ridiculously devoted to him. She'd abandon everything else if it meant saving his life, and she wouldn't hesitate to kill or be killed in his behalf. And having that said, she also would not hesitate to work with people she's determined to kill for his sake.
There are other people she devotes herself to, though not to that extent. Van Grants and "Mommy" the Liger Queen. After the Liger Queen was killed by the main party - Arietta became obsessed with avenging her mother - namely, killing them. This is pretty common with regards to the people Arietta devotes herself to - fighting for their sake is the way she expresses her gratitude for all those people have done for her, as well as her love for those people. She's very single-minded in terms of these goals too - she spends most of her role in the game chasing down the main party.
Though she may appear to be simple due to the way she acts, she isn't. Nor is she overly childish or stupid. Certainly, she has some childish traits, and speaking habits, (I imagine that’s more due to her having been raised with ligers - who communicate physically more than ‘verbally’) but she also has no difficulty speaking in "adult" terms. She does have animalistic qualities - mainly her loyalty and black and white sense of justice, but she isn't unapproachable. Even in the limited screen time the God Generals get in in the game, Arietta’s shown to respect Van and his ideals quite a bit. She’s also close to Largo, is willing to do favours for Asch without much persuasion, and seems to carry respect for Legretta as well. She’s receptive to kindness and it doesn't take very much to get on good terms with her (provided you don't make her angry - she carries a grudge like nobody’s business.) Also, being so single-minded when it comes to her goals, she can be manipulated fairly easily if you know which buttons to press.
Being in Garbleblasted has matured her some - she learned to empathize with Sync, she struggled through loss and grew a little bit for it. She made lots of other friends - something that reflected on her - she even learned how to be civil to Anise.
But at the core, she’s very much the same.
Extra:
Character Abilities: First and foremost, Arietta has the ability to speak to monsters. More than that, they flock to her. It’s unclear what exactly draws them to her, but monsters are very quick to befriend her and fight for her.
While she primarily fights with her monster friends in game, she’s also capable of holding her own. Her specialities are fonic arts - the Abyss version of battle magic - mainly dark based and defensive.
Being very small and light, though, physically she has little to offer. In the game, she never fights alone.
Possessions: Her doll, really… that’s it.
Anything else: TALKING TO MONSTERS? I don’t know.

At first, Arietta could only stare in disbelief and horror as the hunters landed the final blow upon her friend - a liger. She had began running towards the fight the second she spotted it in the distance- but she couldn't run fast enough to close the gap. The liger was being attacked by five humans - they looked to be hunters of some sort. Her legs moved as fast as they could - but it wasn't enough. There was still ten feet between her and the hunters when the liger collapsed. His growl faltered as the last remains of life drained out of his body.
Involuntarily, Arietta stopped. There was a moment where all she could do was stare with a horrified expression on her face. It seemed like hours. She hadn’t been there to witness the Liger Queen’s death. When she had found out… it hurt. To know that the Liger Queen, her mommy… Had died protecting her brothers and sisters. It was painful, even more painful than seeing Anise replace her. At least Ion was alive.
But this was different, somehow. She saw it, her friend’s last moments of life… it was worse.
They had ganged up on him, too. Five against one. That wasn’t fair. They had weapons, and it was just one liger… just… one… he had no hopes of defending himself.
”My friend…” her voice was small, weak. Even so, one of the hunters noticed her and inclined his head to her. He frowned.
”Oh, little girl, I’m sorry you had to see that…”
But Arietta wasn’t listening. Her voice was picking up volume, slowly. Her friend was dead - they had killed him without giving him any chance to defend himself.
That was unforgivable.
“You killed… my friend…”
One of the other men looked at her, perplexed. “Sweetheart, it’s not a kitty cat…”
She began to walk towards them again, with slow steps. She clutched the doll close to her chest, fingers digging into the fabric. A few of the hunters exchanged looks, not sure what to make of the display.
Her expression changed, then. She tightened her grip on the doll, a feral rage slipping into her features. She bared her teeth.
”I’m really gonna make you pay now!”
