I know nobody cares(I DO I DO) but whatever, want to put down my thoughts on AI Season 9.
In alphabetical order 'cos that's how they are on the AI.com site. Not in any order of how I think they'll do or personal opinion(both probably will be represented by many !!!!!'s and :DDDD's.)
Aaron Kelly: Uhm, I've seen him around maybe? I don't know, Archuleta set a pretty high bar for overall adorableness in Season 7 and this kid just hasn't done anything for me yet. Plus something about him just puts me off- his face maybe? Sorry kid, yous got a weird face. :/
Alex Lambert: OMG ADAM LAMBERT IS BACK-... Wait. You said Alex? Not Adam? Who is this person? D: For the record, this is Adam, conveniently expressing my reaction to having to remember Alex Lambert is not Adam Lambert.
Andrew Garcia: I like his vibe, he's very cool and relaxed and omg did I mention he has the cutest baby ever?!? And I'm not even a baby person. :D He's like that cool indie guy who plays at bookstores and coffeehouses and lives above a tattoo parlor or something and is just that guy you want to be friends with 'cos he's just that cool.
Ashley Rodriguez: I don't really remember her. And I'm not inclined to youtube her at the moment. D:
Casey James: This guy is being hyped as the 'hottie' of the season. Which I have to say; When was this decided and why did no one hear my resounding NO from halfway across the country? He's cool, like a bluesy singer guy, but I feel he'd be better off in a band. With a better lead singer.
Crystal Bowersox: LOVE HER. She's got dreads and tattoos and piercings and another adorable baby(what is up with me and babies lately?) and I've liked her since her audition. Not gonna lie though, hopefully once Idol's stylist team get their hands on her they a)don't change her image too much but b)please get some whitening agent on them teeth. Smoker anyone? But back to actual singing ability, she's smoky and cool, like Janis Joplin and she can play the guitar and the harmonica and sing AT THE SAME TIME. What people, I say- WHAT.
DiDi Benami: I want to smush her into a million pieces. She's so adorable and real and something about her just ticks all my boxes for potential Top 12 people. She reminds me of Brooke White from Season 7, which is no bad thing let me tell you. I enjoy her most when its her and a guitar and no backing synth or beats or whatever to turn her from songwriter to bland pop robot.
Haeley Vaughn: 16, and she wants to be the first black country pop girl singer. Props to you girl. That's all I got. (Singing wise? Put Taylor Swift on helium, there you go.)
Janell Wheeler: I've liked her since audition rounds, and I'm so glad she made it this far, considering how Idol has been shunning her screen time wise. The girls are the stronger set this year, and Janell is in the top three girls for me.
Jermaine Sellers: Sidenote, my dad really likes this guy. I liked him better in auditions, since in Hollywood Week he went all diva on Michael Orland and the band. Which hello dude- you gotta sing with these guys having your back for the next however long you stay on the show. Do NOT fuck with them. I'm not a big old school R&B fan, but he could make me into one if he stops being a douche.
Joe Munoz: I honestly don't know anything about him. He just popped up like HEY YOU GUYS I'M IN! like when you open that can of peanuts but a snake flies out. There's no screen time of him singing or anything so. (And is it a race!fail when I see him I can only think of S8's Jorge Nunez? *facepalm*)
Jon Park: This is the adorable Asian guy who Shania Twain was all; 'You have a nice bottom end(talking about his voice people!) and a good head and nice lips.' Or something like that. But since then Idol hasn't shown much of his Hollywood Week performances, so I've forgotten about him. Fail.
Katelyn Epperly: I really liked her in auditions, (ngl lie, its her hair, I'm digging it!) and she had a so-so Hollywood Week. She's good, but in this season of really strong girls she's more in the Top 5 than Top 3.
Katie Stevens: For a 17 year old, this girl is good. She's def Top 3, except I worry that she's gonna be the judges favorite and constantly pushed as the hardcore leader and she's gonna get voter backlash. D:
Lacey Brown: Honestly, I was like; who? I don't know you.
Lee Dewyze: He was like a; who is this guy? wait- did he even sing this week? kind of addition to the Top 24. They flashed back to his Day 3 performance of The Fray's You Found Me and I found myself saying over and over; Somewhere Matt Giraud is crying into his scarf and fedora. Personal opinion, Matty G totally had that song bangin' yo~
Lilly Scott: I like this girl, I don't think she's the best singer, but she's different(platinum anime hair anyone?) and yeah. I think I'm running out of things to say, how many more of these contestants are there? Thank goodness I didn't do this last year when there was a Top 36. I would've been here /forever/.
Michael Lynche: BIG MIKE. He's like Ruben Studdard but actually in super shape(he's a personal trainer, dude could be a linebacker no lie) and its amusing(is that the right word) to see this big guy jam on a guitar and sing like a r&b crooner. Not what you expect from him. Do I think he's gonna make the Top 12? Maybe, since he's gonna be a fan favorite and get those; 'aw you're a big guy, gonna dial for you and your new baby' vote. Do I think he should? Not really.
Michelle Delamor: She's really pretty and has a cool last name. I think that's all anybody in America knows about her at this point.
Paige Miles: Have we even seen her open her mouth? Where do these people come from?
Siobhan Magnus: I really like this girl, not right off the bat, but a lot of people are pulling for her already so that got my interested. My worry is that she comes across as older than she is(she's 19) and when the judges rag on her for not coming across as younger, she's gonna mess up and sing something like Taylor Swift and get kicked off faster than Kayne West can hop on the stage and yell; YO SIOBHAN IMMA LET YOU FINISH...
Tim Urban: He's that guy. The guy tween girls are gonna vote for. He is cute, I'll give him that, but he's, I don't know. Bland? Run of the mill boy band material?
Todrick Hall: I like him better when he sings an original song about Idol. He's cool and has this background in theater, which should make for interesting performances, but he just doesn't sing the kind of stuff I'm gonna be inclined to listen to(and later buy, you know?).
(THANKFULLY THE LAST but not the least!) Tyler Grady: When he first popped up for auditions with that goofy hair, tall and lanky body and both wrists in casts up to his elbows, I was like; OMG JARED PADALECKI. :D They remind me of each other, goofy, likable guys, with a positive attitude but some cajones behind all that charm in case people don't take him too seriously. I like him, do I think he's gonna win? No, but he should /definitely/ make it to Top 10 and then tour because I'd go and see him. :D
Now that's over with. :D Took more effort than I realized, and I figured out I really need to go back and re-watch these people's auditions and so forth. I need to be better prepared come next week!
Sidenote: Where is this guy? I want this guy!
Kris says; That's all folks. :D
