Hey you guuuuuys.

I'm looking to kill time doing something slightly more productive, and I'm pretty sure I still love cooking, and everyone always needs food, so give me some of your favorite recipes. EC, I'm looking at you. Recipes for anything: snacks, dinners, desserts. Any level of difficulty, as long as it gives me something to do.

I always have fun with Alton Brown's recipes.

Good Eats episodes by order. There are links to the recipes and transcripts for each episode...good stuff.

Step 1: Make Mexican Rice (Rice-a-Roni) according to package directions.
2: Break about 4 chicken breasts into relatively small pieces (by hand, knife, machete, using a spatula while you cook it, etc.) Saute in a bit of olive oil with one chopped onion and some green pepper. Season to taste with cumin, garlic, salt, pepper, basil, and sage.
3: When that's pretty much thoroughly cooked, add some frozen peas and corn. Cook for another minute or two.
4: Serve over the rice. Sprinkle with cheese and broken tortilla chips.
5: Eat. If bad, yell at person who gave you recipe for being too vague on the directions.

Sounds good. Don't have a blender, but I'm sure I can manage. As for the spicy oil, yeah, I've tried it. Great for frying veggies in.

This is what I've been into. The one at the top of the page is my favorite, but he has a million or so other recipes.

Wow, that's interesting. And if I make my own chicken nuggets I can waste even more time!

Re-reading my response, it sounds a lot like sarcasm. And being that I am irreverently prone to sarcasm, I feel I should point out I was being serious, since the goal is ultimately to kill time. Well, and to eat. :p

Pasta al Forno (pasta cooked in an oven). That one looks pretty much like what my dad makes when he gets in the mood to make it. Ignore step 14, we eat it while it's still hot and runny, but left overs are never turned down the next day.
