Rock Band whoo

So I threw a party last Wednesday, where a bunch of people from work got drunk and made fools of themselves. It was awesome. I might make it a monthly thing, but I'm not sure yet. I really wish I'd taken pictures, but someone got a video of me and someone else singing some song. I can't even remember what song, but it was apparently hilarious ( Read more... )

Vague suggestion if this happens on any sort of regular basis: ask people to bring snacks and/or beverages, or just outright ask them to chip in a few bucks. It's one thing to throw a bash every once in a blue moon, but if you're doing it monthly, really, nobody should be offended that you don't want to fund the entire party yourself every single time.

Oh, yeah, I was going to put out a donation jar for the next party. I don't think people would object terribly.

Nah, they're all friends and I want them to be there. And none of them make a whole lot of money. If I don't get much this next time, maybe I'll try a different tactic.

Bring your own beer.
Really, that should be the assumption at any house party.

I only spent like $10 on beer anyway. And there are people that prefer liquor over beer, myself included, and that cost like $45. It's too much to ask people to bring liquor, so it would be more realistic to just ask for donations. If everybody gave like $2-3, that'd be fine.

When I go to a party (this new years for example) I usually bring a bottle of what I prefer to drink. Which is usually either a bottle of spiced rum or rye whiskey, and once the bottle is opened it stays at the house. What with the open alcohol in cars law and because thats just how I am.
