You think that's a strange subject name? Try this one:
whilst i was doing some tutoring at the vce summer school at uni, there was a booklet (supposedly Chinese Second Language Advanced) called Advanced Gardening. Y'see, the template the people had sent the coordinators was called 'Advanced Gardening'.
Taiko is fun to watch. There's a group around which does group taiko. I watched their performance at the Melbourne-Osaka Yacht Race.

Good to see you alive, if not kicking, on LJ.

oh just watch me kick :D
i think the taiko group you saw was wadaiko rindo? i'm learning with them at the moment and they're the only group around i know in melb!

advanced gardening... I'D DO THAT! hang on... so do you get to graft trees and make hybrid plants? :D

yay for tickets and flights and sellage (thats not a word) of violins! and haha about deadjournal. crazy kids. and the ad's for the honda accord...

Hm, that could be them. Wadaiko Rindo sound familiar.
'Advanced Gardening': Oh my, weren't the students confused. If not for "Advanced gardening = chinese 2nd langauge advanced" it might have been grafting trees to make hybrid plants. Or studying the nitrogen cycles in soil, and deciding the most efficient way to rotate crops, or even piecing together a plan for the vegetable patch that encourages symbiosis....

... commercial apples come from grafted trees. The non-grafted ones yield bitter apples, so I've heard. Grafting trees, especially ones from different fruits, is difficult. That's why the fruit salad trees mostly have fruits from the same family. The Citrus salad, or the stone fruits salad.

fruit salad trees....?

Yup. grafting one fruit to another and hoping it accepts the grafting. It doesn't work most of the time, so fruit salad trees are expensive. I haven't checked the price recently, but a few years ago they were around $40-80, depending on how many species there were.

I like vacuuming more than washing up, as long as it's not the whole house.

Hurrah! I'm glad you updated. Haha, you have a hilarial uni. Hmm, my subjects don't sound as fun as yours (but still very what-the-ish): "Cardio-respiratory and Locomotor Systems".

ZOMG! Rock-climbing! I know Jeremy, Anna's boyfriend, so I keep hearing about your fabulous trips to that newish place along Swanston St. How'd you get into it? Haha, I've always wanted to try Hanging Rock.

Seems like everyone's headed off somewhere. I'm going to be saving up for six years to travel Europe. Hopefully I'll have some people to drag along with me by the end of it.

Zomgzomg, you're going to be in a TV ad? Tell me more, girl!
