Oh, parents who leave their children to fend for themselves (and worse, expect them to do all the work) are one of the things that really get my ire up! :O

What an absolutely horrible childhood for Ana and Cindy, and even Ella (who suffered less, but surely suffered). I'm glad they all escaped, but it is hard to heal those scars. And Ana's mother never got what she deserved for all the misery she wreaked on those poor girls.

This was such a haunting, human take in the tale. Well done!
