I still hate parties

They still remind me I'm alone, and that that is not likely to ever change. I hate growing old. Dammit, where is my gorram telomere treatment?

Hey man. I just got a job on Friday! If you're reading my LJ you know that the pay sucks, but I'm hopeful that it'll wind up being a great fit.

Now, I'm scheduled to work 50-60 hours a week for the next two weeks, but if my door is open come on in and hang out. I'm sad that you hadn't even seen my entertainment center in the past 3 months! An open door is an invite.

Anywho, I sympathize about parties. I can feel more alone than if I were by myself, because there is togetherness all around me and I have a hard time joining in. It's also a great time to look at all the pretty girls and lament not having one of my own.

Anyway, check-out pointlesswasteoftime.com. It'll cheer you up (if you're a little dark and twisted, that is). I can recommend John Dies at the End, their Suicide Guide, and their Gamer's Manifesto.

You know, I was having feelings like that for a while... Went to all the parties and social events (at least, those containing the sort of crowd I enjoy the company of), and while I found plenty of friendly people, I rarely managed to hook up with anybody or find anything substantial. I had nearly a two year dry spell going for a while there.

You know what finally ended it? It sounds terrible, but online dating. It's the real boon of introverts. I've had great success with OkCupid, culminating in my current girlfriend. My friend Will signed onto the service recently, and within a week he found a girlfriend that he's not quite close with.

Give it a try. You've nothing to lose. :-)

Er, woops. I seem to have stuck an extranious 'not' in there. Will IS quite close with his girlfriend.
