Hmm.

Firstly, yes, it's true. Secondly, armaments are not the most useful things to possess here, given the wide disparity in power levels, but there are some people, I believe, who are running a forge of some kind. And thirdly, the only reason to gamble is if the odds favor you substantially enough.

It's not gambling if you always know you're going to win; the odds being in your favor don't guarantee anything. However, there is no reason to do it -- at least not for the hopes of gain -- if the odds are against you.

Unless there is provably such a thing as luck in your universe, I don't understand the statement.

Hasn't there ever been a time when you felt like you could do no wrong? Some moment when you felt completely in sync with the world and totally unstoppable?

No, I don't know what you mean. Such a feeling sounds like irrational exuberance, a danger which is manifest in people commonly after a long run of success, and which simply means that their likely eventual failure is exponential in magnitude.

Well, you are right. We all lose eventually, but there's nothing irrational about enjoying good luck while you have it.

Good luck is simply a psychological phenomenon. It doesn't exist in the real world.

Well, I have a feeling we're not going to see eye to eye on this.
