I've just been sitting around and healing, which is a lot like sleeping. I'm pretty well off the pain killers, though I will still take one at night if I am having trouble getting to sleep and the foot is acting up at all, or in the day if I think I'm going to need to have it down a lot. I've been able to go as long as 48 hours between doses, though it starts a slow ramp at around 36. The fact that benadryl helps it is kind of a smoking gun that it's some sort of histamine reaction; my major fear is that I developed a latex allergy from the surgery or the wrappings. But it's possible that there could be something sourced from corn in the mix, and I already have a corn allergy. (Corn allergy is more palatable because latex allergies are annoying.)
I'm on daily zyrtec already because I have year-round allergies in this climate; I stack benadryl with it whenever I have breakthrough/breakout allergic reactions. (A trick my allergist taught me since I reacted to my shots so often.)

And yup, I am going to have my work cut out for me, but the conscious balancing every time I get up does seem to be helping incrementally. If my muscles are being weak then it lets me map that, and if they are okay then I seem to build a little more strength and balance -- it's getting a little easier to get up and down from chairs. I haven't been doing the arm exercises I was hoping because I've just been too tired. I even found some one pound cans to use as starter weights but they've just been sitting there. I can do some light isometrics or hold my arms out to my sides for a bit, and then I'm pooped.
