I just read a sentence out of Max Lucado's book "Cast of Characters". It reads: "Changing direction in life is not tragic. Losing passion in life is." Love, Mom

I love my job (well future job). I love medicine. And I think if you don't love what you are doing -- get out right away (or as soon as is reasonable). If you don't love what you do, it's an injustice to those you serve as well to yourself.

Just catching up on LJ after a long absence. Anyway. I love my job, I love being a wife and mom and homemaker. Sometimes I long to dress up in work clothes and be glamorous again, but I know in my heart of hearts that this is who I am and where I am supposed to be. I kind of love it!

I think you are a smart person and will be able to discern what you are supposed to be doing in life. Whatever it is, I know it will be great. :-)

Oh, Deanna... I hear you. I am rather tired of teaching. And, I, too, almost let out an inaudible gasp when I hear people teaching for a long time. I can never imagine (or want to) myself doing that. I am ready to move on from teaching. I'm ready... I am blessed with many talents and I want to explore those. No matter what you do in life, you will teach to some extent. But, as a daily profession, it's simply not something I am passionate about any more.

I'd rather be several things. First, I'd love to be a fashion stylist. I'd also love to write children's books... photography is in there, too, but not at the top any more.

I don't think it is wrong to desire another career. I don't think we're supposed to stick with something we don't love just out of duty and obligation.
