That's a difficult question... back home, I promised somebody I would keep her safe no matter what. But if I had to hurt my other friends or something like that to keep her safe... I don't think I could do that.

Um, well... once, I think I almost did, on accident. It was pretty reckless of me...

[ ... ] But if I died, then I don't think I would be content... because then I wouldn't know if I had succeeded in keeping her safe or not.

[Lyon is once again confused as to why she can't come in, but the Prince manages to pre-empt her question with his own. She frowns, sighing to herself.]

I found out that I'm living with two assassins for hire. It... reminds me a little too much of Nether Gate, so I thought I'd take a few days away from home to think about it.

That's not even much of a question, is it..? If you're going to keep them safe at all costs, it does mean all costs. No matter how far you'd have to go.

But if you die saving them, then you can't keep them safe anymore.
