So, no, it's not technically required. I just barely started mine, got about 2k done and am HOPING to bring it in around 8k or so.

Oh thank god...I'm not sure when I'll finish it and the way it looks it will be around 15k (Hopefully it will end with that) and the thought of dropping this on one of my friend to beta in less than a week is nauseating...

I've never written something so long... Have you tried listening to some music? Maybe you need some inspiration?

Music doesn't really inspire me much when I'm writing. At least not yet.
