i enjoy using myself as the subject of my photography though i haven't in a while due to lack of resources (i really want a remote controlled shutter release or something of the sort)

specifically, and i've always said it, because i can do what no one else will do for me. i know exactly what i am looking for, it is true.

and whether we'd like to admit it or not, we are a little self centered, narcissistic. it's only human.

i think timing is everything. you've got to snap that photo before the idea becomes stale to you, so you we take pictures of ourselves. no biggie.

i dont usually shoot people, but when i do, i feel i cant direct them to pose the way that i want them to. i think part of your frustration comes from being able to work with material that you can mold into the figures that you have in your head, whereas a person has a mind of his or her own. you know what you want and you dont always have the patience to wait for someone else to do it for you, or that person may not be able to do it as well as you want (but lets not bring up past sexual experiences...)

if you are faced with shooting someone else, you may have to accept that they can't do it as well as you can, so you have to compensate for that by looking at it from another perspective and try to push yourself to make up for the model in your photography.

I tend to use myself as a model when I draw. It's convenient, and I don't have to try to explain anything to another person who may not understand what I'm looking for. But that's just because I suck at using my words.
