Ok, for an English project I have to create my own hero/heroine that goes on a journey (to go along with our study of The Odyssey). He/she to have some kind of special power and a flaw. They also need to start their journey off somewhere. I want my heroine to be somewhere in England and for it to have a sort of Harry Potter/magic-y feel, but

Don't do the magic thing. Just a suggestion, but some sort of fantasy is what everyone's going to do. Be original and have the journey as something in the normal world; say, your hero goes on a road trip, or much better, he/she goes into the bad and parts of town. Just my suggestion.

Yeah, that's a good idea. Except a requirement is that he has some kind of magic power. And I think we have to have some form of gods in there too, but I'm not sure. I like the bad part of town thing tohough, thanks. :D

He has to have some magic power. Hmmm. If you could blend the real and the fantasy, that'd be really cool; the only problem is that it could be hard to do. I'm not really good at creative type stuff, but maybe the hero is a normal person who discovers his extra power? I don't know; your project, your decision.
