2005 Survey

1) Was 2005 a good year for you?
In retrospect, it was wonderful. The last several months have been very challenging, but overall, I can't complain too much. I'd say I had a lot of balance in my life this year, and the constant great aspects of my life helped me through the bad times.

2) What was your favorite moment of the year?
I had the best Christmas ever. EV-ER. Except the part where I sucked at life and my desk table-y thingy fell apart everywhere. But really, you can't beat (surprisingly) good times with your family and the person you love. I'm not sure... there were so many great moments, it's hard to pick just one. And honestly, I'm okay with being in that sort of predicament :)

3) What was your least favorite moment of the year?
My dad's overdose last summer and all that came with it is pretty high on the list, and also when I took my kitten to the Humane Society in April only to find out later that they euthanized her the same day. I wasn't a big fan of going to the visitation service for my 16-year-old patient... I also wasn't too fond of spraining my ankle, breaking my toe, developing The Rash all over my entire body circa burn camp in July, having minor surgery to remove a coupla abscess-like things... basically, 2005 was packed with fun health woes I hope don't make a cameo in years to come!

4) Where were you when 2005 began?
Paul's house in Michigan, loopy from drinking a couple of White Russians. ;)

5) Who were you with?
Lots of people I didn't know... I was with G (whom I'd been dating a total of 10 days at the time) and all his friends. Tremendously awkward, really, but it turned out to be good times

6) Where will you be when 2005 ends?
Back at Paul's place in Michigan, most likely

7) Who will you be with when 2005 ends?
definitely G, probably the rest of his posse too

8) Did you keep your new years resolution of 2005?
nope, as per usual.

9) Do you have a new years resolution for 2006?
Look good in my bridesmaid's dress for Chelle's wedding (aka, do some arm-toning thingies and don't eat too much crap), apply/go to graduate school, stop harassing G about problems in our relationship that really aren't worth worrying about (I've gotten better, but there's a bit of room for improvement!)

10) Did you fall in love in 2005?
I did, and I continued to be in love.

11) If yes, with who?
KT... obviously

12) If yes, do they know?
I don't think so. She just thinks we're good friends.

13) Are you still in love with them?
always

14) You regret it?
nope... except the fact that there are now miles between us *tear*

15) Did you breakup with anyone in 2005?
no

16) Did you make any new friends in 2005?
not a ton, but the ones I did make are great

17) Who are your favorite new friends?
Matt and Emmy! We got to be good friends at camp in July and I heart them <3 KT and I also got a lot closer, although we initially met in early 2004

18) What was your favorite month of 2005?
probably August... new beginnings, a break from work, and my birthday!

19) Did you travel outside of the US in 2005?
no... but I will January 7 if you count Mexico :)

20) How many different states did you travel to in 2005?
Michigan, Wisconsin, Massachusetts, Missouri (obviously)... 4. I suck

21)did you lose anybody close to you in 2005?
Amanda, but we weren't close aside from the fact that she was my favorite patient

22) Did you miss anybody in the past year?
I was in a long-distance relationship for 11 months of the past year... 'nuff said

23) What was your favorite movie that you saw in 2005?
I don't know about favorite, but 2005 was admittedly a good year for stupid humor (40 Year Old Virgin, Wedding Crashers, etc). I saw "Cinderella Man" tonight and liked it a lot, incidentally

24) What was your favorite song from 2005?
I had a ton of favorite songs this year, but none of them were from 2005. I did like the new Death Cab, though... I'm not ashamed to admit it, even though G will make fun of me and call me an emo kid for liking bands with weird names :)

25) What was your favorite record from 2005?
I really liked the new Coldplay... and Keane put out a good first album too, even though I'm aware they're just the Equate version of Coldplay

26) How many concerts did you see in 2005?
one. Some 80's tribute band at U of I.

27) Did you have a favorite concert in 2005?
Some 80's tribute band, I guess

28) Did you drink a lot of alcohol in 2005?
I would say no, but KT was an influence on me my last semester... I can't say bad influence though, 'cause she and said alcohol helped keep me sane!

29) Did you do a lot of drugs in 2005?
lots of prescription drugs. I got to shoot up a lot in 2005.

30) How many people did you sleep with in 2005?
17... without the 7, that is

31) Did you do anything you are ashamed of this year?
Most everything I can think of stems from the fact that I developed a temper due to my increase in self-respect and subsequent decreased tolerance of people treating me badly... not to say indignance is the way to go either, hence the ashamed-ness

33) What was the worst lie someone told you in 2005?
hmm. I don't know. Hopefully people aren't lying to me too much... bastards

34) Did you treat somebody badly in 2005?
yeah, maybe not by their standards but by my own

36) How much money did you spend in 2005?
who keeps track for an entire year? that's for people who budget their money... durr.

37) What was your proudest moment of 2005?
graduating, I guess? Even though I sprained my ankle falling down a flight of stairs in a bar (completely sober, mind you) two nights before...

38) What was your most embarrassing moment of 2005?
Spraining my ankle falling down a flight of stairs in a bar.

39) If you could go back in time to any moment of 2005 and
change it, would you?
yes... when I sprained my ankle falling down a flight of stairs in a bar.

40) What are your plans for 2006?
work, grad school, lather-rinse-repeat. Oh, and go on a killer cruise, read for fun, stay consistent with running and possibly train for a full or half-marathon, see G and my friends as often as I can, succeed in my aspirations to not kill my family, make a few visits down to Columbia, and hopefully learn to knit scarves somewhere in there!
