Olive's not sure what wakes her first, the sunlight filtering through Eduardo's windows or Eduardo himself stirring. Either way, she's reluctant to move, except to burrow against him, and, apparently, to kick off her sheets in the night, too warm to bother with them ( Read more... )

There are times Eduardo thinks that the novelty of waking up beside Olive won't ever really wear off. Whether that's true or not, there definitely is something about the presence of another body in his bed that makes him so much less inclined to leave it yet, regardless of the extra warmth it generates, instead just drawing her closer when she eases in towards him. He could get used to this. Hell, he never wants to have anything other than this.

"Morning," he replies, voice still slightly hoarse from sleep, chin ducking just enough that he can press a kiss to her hair in turn. "You sleep alright?"

Olive nods, too drowsy still her her usual chatter. She always sleeps better with him these days, accustomed now to having him beside her most nights, wherever they wind up. It's not something she expected, though maybe she should have. That first morning they woke up together is still a favorite memory, though she's maybe even more comfortable now than she was then, if only by virtue of habit. Certainly when it's his bed, it's better now with him than it was the first time she slept here. "Always," she murmurs, turning her head to stifle a yawn against his shoulder. "I may in fact still be sleeping right now."

"You've really mastered the art of talking in your sleep, if that's the case," Eduardo teases, nothing but fond, fingers combing through her hair. Even he feels close to it, just past the point of being too awake to drift off again, unable to object to that when it means being conscious of Olive beside him. Even like this, all tousled and half-asleep, she's stunning, his gaze not leaving her for an instant, though keeping his eyes open isn't yet the easiest task in the world. "We can stay here for a while, if you want."

Sighing, Olive closes her eyes, his easy, familiar touch comforting. If anything, he's going to put her right back to sleep, but she doesn't mind. "Yes," she says with a little nod. "Right here. And then breakfast. But not yet, walking is completely overrated." Food isn't, but she's too newly awoken to be hungry yet anyway, and too cozily idle to change that yet. Forcing her eyes open, she pushes herself up just enough so she can lean over and kiss him.
