humans are omnivores. they may not be physically the hunters, but neither are vultures, and there is no denying the need for meat in their diet. incisor teeth are an evolutionary trait that takes millions of years to breed into a species from natural selection. the simple truth she doesn't mention is that if man had never eaten meat, they never would have eaten fish, which contains one of the key resources to healthy brain development, which, combined with a set of upper limbs free of the burden of having to carry the body, is what mainly made humanity at the top of the food chain today.

there is no denying that vegetarianism can be healthy, however to truly find balance between meat and plant is the key to a healthy omnivores diet.

not trying to rain on your parade, but i hope you found this opinion useful/interesting.

I mean, it's basically the dogma of everyday meat eating that most people like to cite. I think the point of the article is that we aren't really set up to eat it nearly as often or as much as we do.

I think the fact that having a vegetarian diet is a "privilege" speaks to how fucked up agroeconomics are, among other things. I'm not actually opposed to people eating meat, I just think the way the meat industry is set up makes anything more than occasional especially weird. People are gonna eat what they need to in order to survive, but everyone should have the right to healthy food, especially fresh produce.
