God, this is so much what I felt/feel about college.
My only advice: find practical experience doing what you love. I love doing journalism, I love reporting, I love editing. I hate talking about it and reading about it and being asked to talk about the failing industry over and over again.
Also, if you feel like you'd be more fulfilled doing a history or polisci major, I think you should go for it. There's no reason you should feel like you need to give up something you truly have a passion for just for money. More than likely, if you're truly passionate, you'll find a way to make money.
Thanks for the advice. It is good advice, and I've heard it from other people, but it's hard to follow, especially for just Year 1 for me. I feel a little better now though.
I feel the same way right now, SO HARD. Oh my god. Like you basically just outlined the way I've felt all day today and been feeling. I have 3 assignments due tomorrow, all of which are incomplete/not started yet because I am too fucking confused about how to even DO them and all of my friends are JUST as confused about it, so I don't even have anyone to copy off of! DAMN. lol.
