i adore the asthetic of this community so i thought i'd come to you all for advice. i just moved into a fabulous new apartment & want it to be as charming as possible. problem is, i have a hideous futon sofa:

Yeah you can buy special paint/primer for metal..you could also make a sort of slip cover for the round arms, maybe our of a canvas material..this would make it disappear and look soft and cozy. lots of cute pillows will help, too, as I'm sure you've thought of!

oooh, good suggestion-- i like the idea of doing away with the u-shaped arms & covering them entirely in fabric! will be sure to post results ;)

wrapping it in cute ribbon? I've done that with ugly lamp bases...

Maybe buy some wood and stain or paint it a color you like. Then create a box like arm you can slide down/over the metal arm frames?

you could get some fabric, and drape it over the arms, and then sew it so it stays there >< if that makes sense
