I adore that you two address that Dean has, for all intents and purposes, gotten his wish where Sam is concerned. Soulless Sam is the antithesis of Sammy but unfortunately it's still not good enough for Dean.

You guys have nailled all three pov's. Clueless, frustrated and grief-stricken. Excellent job.

I got a bit of a shock when I tried to post it in one go and LJ said NO. Sorry if you had to wait but I had potentil pizza burning issues so couldn't post the second part at the same time.

You know it's always bugged me that Dean isn't happy with any incarnation of Sam he gets. I just think it's ironic this is closest to the version he's always wanted and he likes him the least.

I am so glad Dean made that realization, well with Cas's (and Darrin's) help that this Sam actually needs Dean more now than ever. Sam is vulnerable in a whole new way. And that is what I was telling people as soon as it was revealed that Sam had no soul so I was cheering here! Well, that and the whumpedSam. I do love me some bloodied boy :P Loved the use of Cas to fix Sam here - although on the show it irked me that Dean got to do that without any repercussions because he just had Cas fix him. I still have trouble with that because - and sorry for the wee rant - but Sam had an excuse for his behavior. Dean's was just bad. Anger is not a reason for visiting that kind of violence on someone you love - especially once he found out it was really Sam. Just damaged. Rant over :P

Mt favorite moment though was when Dean found out that Sam didn't expect him to watch his back anymore - loved that it hurt him to actually here it. Even if that was exactly what he had done.

Feel free to rant. I've wanted to shake Dean on occasion because he just doesn't seem to really 'get it', so this was a way of addressing that. I'm glad it worked for you too.
