Title: A Measure of Salvation
Summary: When an angelic weapon shows up unexpectedly on a hunt, Dean should know better than to think they could catch a break. Takes place after 6.12
Disclaimer: I own nothing of Supernatural. The title comes from the episode of BSG that spawned the idea for this (I own nothing of that show, either)

Lol! The first time I pluck up the courage to post on a Sam focused site… But then you can’t have one without the other - sick Sam is bound to cause Dean some angst.

Thanks for reading!

Awesome fic, with Sam whump and an interesting casefile. I especially liked the boys' interactions with Bobby and Cas. :)

I don’t think I’ve ever written Cas before and was a little bit nervous, so I’m happy you liked his interaction.

Thanks for reading, and leaving the lovely comment.

I love the idea of Sam's blood making him vulnerable to something that should harm only demons. And the setting withing the timeline was perfectly chosen, with Bobby still having issues and Dean being so ready to be angry with Cas. Awesome story!

Thanks so much. I really wanted to address Bobby’s issues, and I figured setting it then would freak Dean out nicely too. Thanks for reading.

Excellent story, I loved the plot, such an interesting look into the remains of Sam's demon blood. You trod a lovely fine line here between the giving and acceptance of help and comfort and that it's just as hard being the one left standing as it is to be the one poisoned and maybe marked for death. I really enjoyed the different ways they each dealt with their own problems while facing the enormity of what might be happening to Sam. Great dialogue and many little character moments like Dean sitting with Sam in the bathroom, really sets this firmly in that unique place where they were all struggling with everything that had been building to a boil, not willing to give up but also not really knowing how to make things right, but I think the final scene where Sam is sitting on the floor ready to move on was just perfect.

Thanks so much for sharing this one.

Thank you so much!

I love h/c but I don’t think it’s always easy to work it around their personalities so I’m really happy it worked for you, and that the dialogue and quieter moments felt in character. I’m so glad you mentioned liking the Sam sitting on the floor thing, because I wasn’t sure if that was one of those things that only really worked on my head and I came really close to changing it.
