This is lovely, tragic, and lyrical. I love the way it's told as Neal telling a story. I can really feel his grief and desperation.

(Great minds obviously think alike. I have a Neal/Kate drabble sitting on my hard drive that also uses the Orpheus myth. Perhaps this is a sign that I should finally post it.)

This is gorgeous and haunting. I adore the way it's written, the story within the story, and the references to the show and to the Orpheus story.

Heart wrenching - Neal's pain is so visceral here and matter of fact. Such a brilliant weaving of Orpheus with all that happened in canon. The reference to the singing was blended well with Neal's charms, and the rule… perfect allusion to that tragic moment on the tarmac, even though Peter is never mentioned here.
