Oh, Neal. And Peter too.

Peter’s eyes and his voice are a lifeline; maybe Peter can hold the pieces together until Neal can find some way to hold it together on his own.

This whole piece is beautiful and sad, and I'm tearing up reading it.

Thank you so much! They've both had a hell of a week, here, and I wanted to give them a quiet moment of comfort to just breathe for a little bit. I'm really glad you liked this!

This is beautiful! I love the sense of Neal's absolute exhaustion, physical and mental and spiritual. And Peter just quietly there kind of putting a border on things.

Oh, thank you! Poor Neal really is a wreck here, but Peter is there to hold onto him. I'm so glad you liked it!

Oh, this is so lyrical and lovely! There's a really gorgeous sense of time holding still, a little breath of silence and stillness and peace in the middle of everything else that's going on around them. And Peter's quiet acceptance is very sweet.

Oh, thank you so much! It's a moment I've always wanted to write - they've both been through an emotional wringer, here, and I wanted to give them a moment to just breathe and process things. I'm so glad you liked it!

Oh gorgeous.... I know a lot of people thought Peter should have been mad at Neal for the business with Fowler and the gun, but I always understood why he let it go... this story is so much a part of who my Peter is.

OMG YES THIS. I love Peter so much here - the way he handles things in 2.09-2.10 is so much a part of why I absolutely adore him to little pieces. I love that he's not mad - he's just absolutely freaking terrified out of his mind for Neal, and then he's so very gentle with him afterwards. He understands that Neal is just completely broken here, and he's a rock for Neal through all of it. *hugs them both*

Thank you so much! I'm so glad you liked it!

I notice that every time the boys have a rift, Peter tends to get the rough end of the pineapple from fans - which in a way I can understand, Neal is so easy to love* and excuse - but every every time, he ends up proving to be that rock... even when he's mad.

(*which, when you think on it, is absolute canon...)

This. Is. EXQUISITE.

It is both hazy and raw, tender and visceral - but you weave it all so subtly. Your descriptions...masterful! I love how you made the patio environment a very key element, not just a backdrop - but a character - in Neal's epiphany. Some of those...I had to stop and say to myself, "How does someone come up with this?" (Like that awesome soap bubble analogy ( ... )

Eeeeeee, thank you so much! :) I've had this scene in my head for a while now, and the sense of place was very important, so I'm really glad that worked.

Also, you have totally made my day, here - I love hearing that I've made someone look at a character in a different light. (I have ALL THE FEELINGS about Kate. And a rather extensive headcanon, which ended up turning into my giant whitecollar-bb fic this year ( ... )
