Oh my god, ohmygod ohmygod this is so sadly beautiful. Wanting to believe that Kate and Byron are still out there, especially over the holidays, seems like such an easy trap to fall in to. Neal's last letter is just heartbreaking, it's a good thing we know he'll be out soon. Thanks so much for posting this.

Absolutely beautiful and heartbreaking, the side of Neal and June we would never ever see without your amazing story. Every word is perfect, filled with spirit of the gloomy winter days, grief and hope and simply life.

Heartbreaking and beautiful all at the same time. Neal's last letter is so, so raw and powerful - a contrast to June's letter, who is further on in the grieving process. *hugs them both* Lovely.

This is so achingly sad and so beautiful. I love how the fragile and rather genteel illusion fell apart into such raw grief there at the end.
