The feeling of period language is really good here, and that is often one of the more challenging parts of the writing!

I love this "in the moment" look at all of these civilizations colliding and which of them is prominent now with wonder as to how that might change in the future.

This is great! You are a very good writer.

I do wish that The Count's oration had some paragraph breaks in it, though. It was difficult to read that lonnnnnng string of words.

But that's just me. :)
