Best story I've read in a long time!

(Big careful hug)

(Actually I hate careful hugs - if I hug, I hug!:D)

That was both funny and moving - I love the description of Mediterranean hugs.

I usually hug other people (people I know, I might add) and the pressure depends on how well I know them. My brother gets a bear hug. I have however noticed that some older women kiss my cheek during the hug (just one cheek here so far) so it looks like the greeting kiss is making its way here after all.

My god, some people try to take profit at it, eh? I hate it and I hate Kat could have felt in that way because is how I feel sometimes. And of course, I am making a caricature: not all Mediterranean or English people does it in a way - of course! - but let me play a bit :D.
Altough, the bear hugs of your brother are welcome (anyway, let me protect a bit before :D)

THE TRUITA YOU MADE WAS GREAT!!!

Setting the stove on fire was just added entertainment but the food was delicious!
And you, pobret, trying to do ten things at once and having the family descend on you!

Heh heh, I'm with you ont he kissing and hugging, though. It kind of bugs me when people I don't know get in my personal space. I'm learnign to deal with it here but still...

I guess we're all creatures of habit, in the end.

p.s. *petons*.....*abraçades*

:D

Ahaha!! I will ask you in future to see if you're in a hugging/kissing mood or not :)

I find that it depends on the person - some of my friends I will always want to hug and kiss and some I do not and a lot of that has to do with whether or not they are comfortable with sharing their personal space.

The truita was delicious! I still marvel that something with so few ingredients tasted SO good.

Don't worry, please! You are like a sort of 007 (license to kiss, hug or whatever) and I am pleased you don't feel offended by any part of that post: I trusted in the sense of humour of my family in law ;)

I am happy you still had good memories about that truita. It makes me drop a little tear :D

*missing don't be closer, really*

I know what you mean. Sometimes we need a kiss in a different country and people react in such different manner!
We are used to kiss and hug but other countries are colder in this respect.
Fortunately I traveled to countries were people express the kissing and hugging more than many others, even Spain. Well, I have come to the conclusion that i could not live in a country that does not express these kind of feelings openly.

But but... what most appeals to me in this post..... WHAT DID YOU COOK???
:D
